OG produces HVO 100 from renewable resources

The clean substitute for diesel

HVO 100 or Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil, is the clean substitute for diesel. HVO 100 is made from renewable and sustainable raw materials including vegetable oils and fats. The special thing about HVO is that you can use it in diesel engines without having to modify anything in the engine.

HVO 100 comes in different blends in which the ratio of diesel to HVO can differ. The number 100 implies that it is the pure form of HVO. Other suppliers also sell HVO 20, which is a mix between diesel (80%) and HVO (20%).

Since HVO 100 has a similar chemical composition to conventional diesel fuel, no modifications to engines or distirbution systems are required.

CO2 free

HVO 100 is a fuel that produces no CO2 emissions during the combustion process. Its use results in an almost 90% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to diesel.

No truck modifications

HVO 100 can be refueled directly in newer trucks (Euro 5/Euro 6) without the need for vehicle modifications. This makes the use of HVO 100 simple and cost-effective.

ISCC standardized

HVO 100 meets the standards of the International Sustainability and Carbon Certifications (ISCC). This certification ensures that the fuel meets certain quality requirements and has been produced in a sustainable and responsible manner.

Financial advantages

OG offers (transport) companies that switch to HVO 100 support with certificates. These certificates serve as proof of the amount of CO2 reduction achieved through the use of HVO 100. In tenders and calls for tenders, this offers a considerable advantage, because companies can demonstrate that they are tackling not only their direct emissions (scope 1), but also their indirect emissions, such as those of purchased energy (scope 2), and even the emissions of their entire chain, including suppliers and customers (scope 3).

Switching to HVO 100 is possible today. You don't have to invest in new vehicles, and using this clean fuel offers maintenance benefits. This is because HVO 100 has better lubrication properties than conventional diesel. As a result, less Ad-blue is needed.

The consumption and range of a truck on HVO 100 is the same as diesel.

PRODUCTION PROCESS OF HVO 100

The production process of HVO 100 starts with the collection of the various raw materials. These raw materials are then purified until only a pure feedstock is obtained. The molecular structure is then modified to optimise the fuel's properties. This involves rearranging the molecules to improve the fuel's performance.

Hydrogen is then used to remove impurities such as sulphur. 
After the purification process, the HVO 100 is refined and tested to meet the specifications and quality standards set for HVO 100 fuel.

You can fill up with OG’s HVO 100 in several provinces in the Netherlands. Moreover, OG also has a partnership with DCB Energy for HVO 100 refueling locations, as well as for CNG+ locations. OG’s ambition is to greatly expand this soon.

AVAILABLE VEHICLES

The new diesel trucks, euro 5 and euro 6 are suitable for HVO 100.
Vans can also run on HVO 100; however, this is not always approved from the supplier yet.
